Unboxing: Daisy Voxbox

Disclaimer: All of the products mentioned this post were given to me as a complimentary gift from Influenster in exchange for my review. I was not paid any money by any of the companies who sell these products.

Last month I received two complimentary boxes from Influensters full of products to try. My first box is the Daisy voxbox, it has been two weeks since I received it which has given me plenty of time to try all products (excluding the coupons which I haven’t redeemed). The first two products in my box are the Live Clean Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner.

This is how the product came packaged in my Voxbox, when I checked for its retail price online I found it for about $5-$6 each in Target Walmart and walgreens.

Now, I am not a big fan of shampooing my hair and this shampoo lathers quiet a lot. I overdid it the first time applying it and had to spend most of my shower rinsing it out. I should have probably known this based on the consistency of the shampoo. It is very creamy which makes it easy to apply to your hair even when its dry. In the other hand, the conditioner is VERY moisturizing which is complimentary to the way this shampoo lathers. I also found that my hair was fully cleansed after two washes (even with pre-poo) and once I proceeded to styling my curls were very defined. I applied a styling cream and diffused my hair and the results were outstanding.

The products are true to their packaging in being very hydrating (what I always look). As per the packaging, both the shampoo & conditioner have 97% plant ingredients and are Paraben Free (Curly girl’s must have). For the shampoo, the first three ingredients are Water, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate* and Cocamidropopyl Betaine*. The conditioner also has water as the first ingredient along with other names that may sound alarming but are not harmful to the environment or your hair. Usually we are told that if we cannot pronounce the name it is dangerous  to purchase the product but the truth is (if you have ever taken chemistry) scientific names are never pleasing to the normal word use in our vocabulary and tend to be hard to pronounce.  But answers are always a google search away so don’t be alarmed when you see these names.

From some background search I did on Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, it is an alternative to Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. (The product you are told to avoid because it’s used in laundry detergents and dishwashing soap). It is derived from coconut and palm oils and you can actually find this online and purchase it to make your own shampoo. Cocamidropopyl Betaine is also a product derived from coconut oil and dimethylaminopropylamine.

Overall I was very pleased with these products and will more than likely be looking to purchase in the future. It is easy on my pockets and hopefully the company will not change the ingredients  in the near future.

Next I received the Skinny Pop Popcorn Microwave Box (Sea Salt flavored).

This is probably the coolest Idea on the planet specially if you are anything like me and hate dirtying dishes. You can simply dispose of the box when your finished.

This was the first Item I tried from the box, I was really confused but once I opened it according to package instructions and popped it in the microwave I felt like I was right in the movie theater. I really like this idea, it feels like having a popcorn machine at home and the best part is that it didn’t have any butter so this didn’t make any mess.

The one thing I didn’t like is that a couple of kernels fell out the box onto my microwave plate but it wasn’t anything too alarming. I will definitely be on the lookout for this because I really don’t like buying popcorn that comes in bags similar to potato chips. The majority of the time you are paying for air instead of the contents in the bag. And even the microwaveable popcorn from the supermarket is not always a good option because often times they burn.

This is a brand new product according to their website and I don’t see that a lot of retail stores carry it. If you are interested in trying it, they can be purchased directly from the Skinnypop website. So far they have them in Sea Salt and Butter flavor.

In addition to two coupons for the probiotic gummies and a free yogurt light, the last three products in my box were the Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Paper Mask, the Nature Bounty’s probiotic gummies and the Always Infinity Flexfoam pads.

I have always seen the Yes To products whenever I walking through the isles at target and went as far as buying the Yes to Coconut protecting hand & cuticle cream but I never bothered to try anything in their skin care line. I really liked this mask because it was very tingly, I was so excited to try it that I didn’t read the instructions completely and ended up covering my eyes with it (stung just a tad). The mask is geared towards acne prone skin (which I’ve struggled with for years) and does a really good job in adding moisture to your face. This was also good for me because I have oily skin and break out from time to time. It is a very affordable mask ($2.99) and I plan to reach for one in the future just because I like to do a deep cleaning of my face every couple of weeks and this will be a great addition to it.

The Next product is the Probiotic Gummies, I had no idea what Probiotics were when I got this. After reading the label I saw that this helps with your digestion, and indeed it does. I am almost running out of the gummies and plan to use the coupon to get more but these are very easy to remember taking and are not too sweet. Previously, I was taking the Hair, Skin and Nails gummies for this brand but was unable to find them on my last trip to Cotsco. These gummies retail for about $18, which is a bit too pricey for my taste but if your having digestive problems this is very likely to help you in that department.

Always Infinity Flex Foams
Always Infinity Flex Foam

The Always Infinity Flexfoam pads were last; these pads retail for about $7 in Target and are very comfortable to wear. I am not a big fan of wearing pads and I was very hesitant to try this but for the sake of getting it I felt obligated to do so. I usually refrain from using pads as they feel very uncomfortable and since I am a very active person I find tampons of better use to me.

But this is a very good option for anyone who has very heavy flows. The main problem with pads is that they don’t provide full coverage and often times may leak into your undergarments and even your jeans. These pads are very absorbent and have pretty good cushion so it also addresses the issues of getting a rash from the material of the pads. However, they are not far from the diaper like feeling that pads usually give you and if you really hate that feeling like I do, this is not the one for you.

I recently received my second box from influenster so be on the lookout for my next review once I have tried out those products.

Thank you for reading be sure to leave a comment below if you have any feedback on these products or suggestions on any other products to try.
